Whether it is higherEd or K-12, the education systems are failing the learners and we need to engineer them again.
Are we willing, or capable?
After working for more than 25 years in software industry, and spending more than 5 years on my PhD in the field of Software Engineering Education (Why do new hires struggle at product companies in comprehending and evolving complex software systems and how can we help them? ), I am gearing up to create impact in the education ecosystem in India. I wish to operate at the intersection of industry, academia, and policy and focus on the following:
As India gears up to be a product nation, it is critical that our engineering education produces high-quality engineers who can meet the demand of the product companies and startups. While we graduate more than a million engineer every year, their employability and fitment in product companies and startups leave much to be desired.

Institutes need to reimagine the curriculum, pedagogy and environment to produce strong product engineers.
Product companies need to rethink their onboarding process and design effective learning programs for early career engineers
Industry and academia need to collaborate to define and design a curriculum that produces world-class PMs for technology products
