About

I strongly believe that we need to reimagine higher education and talent ecosystem in India if we are to become a product nation and reap the demographic dividend. I work at the intersection of industry, academia and policy and engage in multiple projects with diverse stakeholders in the ecosystem.

I am a software engineer by training and have worked for more than two decades in various engineering leadership and executive roles across multiple product companies in diverse domains (Fintech, eLearning, Education, High-speed networks) in key geographies (USA, China, India). My LinkedIn profile has more details.

After working in executive roles over the last decade, I realized that the struggles of fresh campus hires with product comprehension were fundamental in nature and required deeper understanding. This prompted me to start my PhD in CS Education in 2018. You can read more about my research problem.

After more than five years of research, I think I understand the problem better and have some solutions to address them. I feel there is an acute need to create courses that teach software comprehension and evolution skills that are applicable to modern complex software systems – what worked for the curriculum so far is no longer enough.
